Dripping Springs ISD portable classrooms costing $1.5M for upcoming school year DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas (KXAN) — Dripping Springs ISD plans to purchase millions of dollars worth of portables to use as classrooms for the next few school years. This comes as the district deals with capacity issues as its student body continues to grow. According to the district, enrollment grew from roughly 4,500 to 8,500 students in the last decade. The district also expects enrollment to essentially double again, to 16,000, in the next decade.Dripping Springs ISD is looking at spending $1,533,742 for six portables for FY 2023-24. Texas WWII veteran identified 80 years after being killed in action FISHER COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A World War II veteran from Roby, Texas, has been identified 80 years after he was killed in action. Army Air Forces Tech Sgt. Frank C. Ferrel, 31, was officially accounted for January 10, 2023, after his remains were identified through DNA analysis. Sgt. Ferrel was aboard a B-24 Liberator bomber that was hit by enemy fire in Romania on August 1, 1943. His remains were buried in the Hero Section of the Civilian and Military Cemetery of Bolovan, Ploiesti, Prahova, Romania alongside more than 80 other unidentified veterans. (NEWS10) -- Assembly Bill A114, which has been introduced and been in committee in the New York State Senate, is looking to legalize the adult use of certain natural plant or fungus-based hallucinogens. The bill states a "natural plant or fungus-based hallucinogen" means a plant, fungus, material, compound, mixture, or preparation, that contains various salts, isomers, chemical designations, or others. Kits, isomerization devices, and scales and balances are mentioned in the bill as well. The bill states that possession, use, cultivation, production, creation, analysis, gifting, exchange, or sharing by or between people must be at least 21 years old.
