Tony Jefferson is retiring from the NFL, but the former Ravens safety isn’t leaving football. The 31-year-old is returning to Baltimore as a scout this summer, the Ravens announced Thursday. He will be joining the team as part of the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship. The fellowship, established by the NFL in 2015 and named after former executives John Wooten and the late Bill Nunn, provides former players interested in a career in professional scouting hands-on experience as full-time members of an NFL scouting staff during a season-long internship.Jefferson has long talked about wanting to be an NFL general manager and will take that next step as one of 21 current or former players participating in the 10th annual Senior Bowl scout school June 4-7 in Mobile, Alabama, according to senior director Jim Nagy.“Scouting is something I really like doing,” Jefferson said on the Ravens’ “Studio 44″ podcast last year. “I see myself scouting even when I&...Vikings receiver K.J. Osborn playing with a huge chip on his shoulder

K.J. Osborn has been in the NFL long enough to understand that pretty much everyone is expendable. There’s a reason the average length of an NFL career is about 3 1/2 years. There are only a handful of players on each team who are truly irreplaceable. That’s a reality Osborn had to confront this offseason when the Vikings selected Jordan Addison in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Though general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell have both gone out of their way to say that pick wasn’t an indictment on Osborn, actions speak louder than words when it comes to these types of decisions. That’s why Osborn is playing with such a huge chip on his shoulder this season. It’s not necessarily because the Vikings might have very well drafted his replacement down the road. It’s more so that he wants to prove to himself that he deserves to have staying power at the highest level.“It’s about respect, man,” Osbor...Arson investigators test out training Thursday with ATF, IAAI

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones signed an executive order Thursday in support of transgender residents, outlining several steps the city will take to support the transgender community. This order sends the message that St. Louis will fight to protect our trans community in the face of bigotry.” Trending -- Former ‘Basketball Wives’ star from St. Louis admits multiple frauds The mayor's office says the executive order will enact more inclusive practices in four ways to protect transgender...Coast Guard shares boat safety reminders as yacht remains stuck in Mississippi River

The Broncos’ first day of OTAs open to media members Thursday was spirited and filled with energy. Yet, there was one thing that was missing.Denver didn’t have a kicker in attendance after releasing Brandon McManus on Tuesday. Although three kickers worked out for the Broncos on Wednesday, none were signed, forcing the team to use a machine during practice.Despite a rough 2022 season, the release of McManus was surprising, but Payton said the decision to let go of the last remaining member of the Super Bowl 50 roster was in the team’s best interest.“A lot of the time, money and what your ‘musts’ are come into it,” Payton said. “The transactions continue here from now until training camp. There may be a player or two that we are still looking to sign. We factored that in, and then we made that decision.”By releasing McManus with a post-June 1 designation, the Broncos will carry $1.231 million in dead cap space and save $3.75 million against the 2023 salary cap.
